Our company, PARABEL s.r.o., faced constant threats in the field of IT security. One day, we fell victim to an attack that threatened our entire infrastructure. Thanks to the quick response and skills of our IT supplier, we were able to eliminate the attack, but this incident forced us to rethink our approach to IT security.
We decided that we had to do something radical. We have to be one step ahead. We need to adopt new technologies and procedures to ensure a higher level of protection and effectiveness. It was a challenge, but we were determined to accept it.
We started with the acquisition of a new server infrastructure. It was like building a new house. Every detail had to be perfect. The new servers gave us better performance and reliability, which was key to our continued work.
The next step was to introduce a 3-2-1 backup system. This system allowed us to recover data at any time with an IT cloud service provider. We backed up not only data, but also e-mail boxes. It was like having an insurance policy that protected us from any unexpected problem. The 3-2-1 rule means having three copies of your data, stored in two different locations, one of which is offline.
But that was not all. We decided to increase security with Bitdefender, Ubiquity and Zabbix technologies. These technologies have provided us with protection for network traffic, server services, and vulnerability monitoring. It was like having an invisible guardian who protected us from all threats.
We also used Zabbix to supervise and automatically respond to events within the environment. The monitoring included over 7000 monitored items within the infrastructure and other items for the availability of partner services. It was like having eyes everywhere that allowed us to see and react to any problem instantly.
The results were stunning. Our security has increased significantly. Employees were able to respond more comfortably and quickly in communication with customers and suppliers, which increased overall efficiency. Most importantly, we have now used modern technology to automate our daily routines and create value in the right direction.
This digital transformation was a huge step forward for us. It has been a journey full of challenges, but also full of success. And we are proud of what we have achieved.

It started with the acquisition of a new server infrastructure, at the same time we have a little more peace of mind knowing that backups are made in a 3-2-1 way and we can restore data at any time with our IT cloud service provider and we back up not only data but also email boxes. We have thus increased the efficiency of our employees, who can respond more comfortably and at the same time faster in communication with our customers or suppliers. We are a modern company that likes to use new technologies and can create value in the right direction rather than getting stuck in a daily routine that we automate right away.
As part of the development of the infrastructure, preparation for further development and expansion of the company’s security capabilities, security was increased within Parabel’s infrastructure using Bitdefender Enterprise technologies, network infrastructure and network traffic management thanks to Ubiquity technologies, and increased availability of internal services using Zabbix monitoring.
Bitdefender’s already operated small business services have been expanded to include enterprise tools for securing stations, servers and monitoring events within the network. Advanced reporting of detected incidents, breakdown of individual incidents has been further expanded to protect network traffic, running server services and environmental surveillance in terms of vulnerabilities and the possibility to take preventive actions to prevent vulnerabilities from both users and server services.
Network monitoring and security has been further expanded to include the use of Ubiquity UDM to monitor network traffic, categorize it and set the necessary rules and restrictions. With advanced traffic monitoring, it is possible to monitor network traffic and protect it from dangerous traffic or unwanted traffic within working hours.
Monitoring of all devices within the environment was carried out using the Zabbix tool, which is used for supervision and possible automatic response to events within the environment. For the Parabel environment alone, there are over 7000 monitored items within the Parabel infrastructure and other monitored items are for the availability of services of partners and related companies. Thanks to the collection and evaluation of data, future possible problems in the environment are alerted and there is enough time for the dog to prevent these problems.
